LAVA 2027

Lava is the career fair for samhällsbyggnadssektionen (the civil engineering and urban management section) at KTH and is organised entirely by students. The fair describes itself as the Nordic region's largest career fair for a single section and brings together more than 100 exhibiting companies and around 3,000 visitors from all years of the section. The exhibitors come from the construction, architecture, real estate and finance industries: contractors, consultancies, property companies and state-owned and municipal companies. The companies have booths on every floor of Nymble, and panel discussions on current topics in urban development are held in Musikrummet. The fair is free and open to all students in the section and at KTH, and you do not need to register. Only the contact talks require an application. You upload your CV and cover letter and register interest in the companies you want to meet, and the companies then choose whom they want to meet in a talk of about 20 minutes. There is no guarantee that you will get a talk. The week before the fair, Lavaveckan, is filled with lunch lectures and case evenings with exhibiting companies, and the fair day ends with Lavagasquen. The organisers recommend reading the company catalogue in advance and coming with a question or two.
